{ Remain interested in what is new(for we believe art inherently causes us to see and perceive life in a new way)
{ Serve the audience by creating a relevant, meaningful, interesting and challenging theatrical experience, made for the viewer

We’re willing to employ every theatrical medium. We’re willing to let non-theatrical things become theatrical. We’re willing to stand on a bare stage and talk. We’re willing to honor the story that wants to be told, whatever the source.

So, in the words of WB Yeats, we will create theatre that is “always reminding and half-reminding those who understand it of dearly loved things, doing its work by suggestion, not by direct statement, a complexity of rhythm, color, gesture, not space-pervading like the intellect, but a memory and a prophecy.”

The Water Series was founded in March 2008 and serves Maryville and East Tennessee, focusing on the development of new work and exploring new ways to express existing texts. And, like water, it is a theatre of what is essential and capable of assuming endless forms.
